Looking for a versatile and comfortable sewing project? Meet the Hour of Power Pants, the ultimate lounge and yoga pants that combine comfort with style. Designed for changing bodies, these mid-rise pants offer a flattering fit gently hugging the waist and hips while providing flexibility for movement. Perfect for lounging, brunch, or yoga, they’re your go-to pants for good vibes and wellness!

This pattern includes two stylish views:

  • View A: Relaxed, straight leg design with no side seams for a minimalist look.
  • View B: A soft flare that tapers at the knee and flares out slightly, perfect for yoga or casual outings.

The Hour of Power Pants are designed for knit fabrics with at least 60% stretch across the width. They call for fabrics that have good recovery, containing 5-10% elastane/spandex. Whether you prefer bamboo terry, cotton spandex, or athletic Lycra, this pattern adapts to a variety of fabric choices, making it ideal for both beginners and more experienced sewists.

Key Features:

  • Two Views: Straight leg (View A) and flared leg (View B) options.
  • Designed for Comfort: Foldable waistband made from self-fabric for an ultra-comfortable fit—no elastic digging in!
  • Pregnancy Friendly: Designed with pregnant bodies in mind; perfect for growing bellies/postpartum comfort.
  • Multiple Printing Options: A4/US Letter for home printing (70 pages), A0 for copy shops (3 pages), and projector-friendly.
  • Easy to Sew: Suitable for confident beginners with comprehensive instructions and construction techniques.
  • Seam Allowances Included: 1 cm (3/8 inch) seam allowances for convenience.
  • Intended for beginner sewists!

Sizing & Fit:

  • Drafted for a height of 170 cm (5'7").
  • Choose your size based on hip measurements. If between sizes, size down for a snug fit or adjust the waistband for extra contouring.

Fabric Recommendations:

  • Light to medium weight knits with at least 60% stretch along the width and 40% stretch along the length. Fabrics should contain 5-10% of either spandex/elastane to help keep the shape.
  • Perfect fabrics include bamboo french terry, cotton/spandex, bamboo jersey, or athletic Lycra for a yoga-friendly vibe.

What's Included:

  • Digital PDF Pattern: For home printing (A4/US Letter, 70 pages total), copy shop (A0 3 pages total, 2 per view), and projector use (optimised with thicker lines/text, mirrored pattern pieces, layers etc).
  • Step-by-step Instructions: Easy-to-follow instructions with illustrations and tips.
  • Stretch Calculation Tool: Included to ensure your fabric is the right fit for the project.

Whether you're a beginner looking for your next project or an experienced sewist seeking a quick and rewarding make, the Hour of Power Pants will have you looking and feeling great in no time.

The Best Comfy pants I own!

I had the pleasure of testing these pants for Gracie and they are 10/10! I wore them all the way through my pregnancy and after. They were even in my hospital bag for after delivery! I have made 4 pairs so far. They whip up super fast and easy which is also a plus as a mom!

PERFECT for maternity, postpartum, and everything in between!

These are the PERFECT pants for a growing bump, to support a c-section recovery, and for general wear. They are a flattering cut, easy to fit, and are versatile enough to wear at home or out without feeling like you're in trackies.
What's even better is that, despite thinking there'd be no way I'd have time to sew them in 3rd tri or with a newborn, they really were super quick to whip up.
Also, they go perfectly alongside TATB's mini Ridley kids leggings pattern so you can match your toddler... If that's your thing 😝
